Passionist Reflection

A few months ago I was invited onto a team of individuals who write for the Passionist Eastern Province in the United States.  So, on the 29th and 31st of the month, if the month has that many days,  I have a reflection on their website.

Today’s reflection is entitled “Image of Faith” and you can click here to go to the site or copy and paste in the following URL

Enjoy!

  1. Very inspirational reflection for me, Sandy. Just as in church while listening to homilies, I found a part of your writing that spoke to me personally. After a long and difficult month of many emotions which brought me down, your sentence, ” We too wither and die when we are self-focused.” Reminded me that there are circumstances that I need to look at differently. It is not healthy physically or spiritually to grieve, year after year, for someone who held my heart (my mom) to where I become self-absorbed so much in missing her that I forget to rejoice that she is in heaven with God. To be selfish that I don’t have her to talk with or hug, instead of being thankful that God took her suffering away. And to not remember all the wonderful times we had together because of the overshadowing grief that I carried daily. By honoring her memory in a positive way (which is what she asked me to do) will nurture my spiritual connection with God and all my loved ones who have passed. Thank you for the wonderful reflection. I always look forward to your writings. God. Bless You, my friend.

    • Hey Lori – Remember….”The accidents of life separate us from our dearest friends, but let us not despair. God is like a looking glass in which souls see each other. The more we are united to Him by love, the nearer we are to those who belong to Him.” ~ Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton

Prayer is how I connect with my mom and others who are distant for one reason or another.
      I am praying with you!
