Reflections at the Well 
Very inspirational reflection for me, Sandy. Just as in church while listening to homilies, I found a part of your writing that spoke to me personally. After a long and difficult month of many emotions which brought me down, your sentence, ” We too wither and die when we are self-focused.” Reminded me that there are circumstances that I need to look at differently. It is not healthy physically or spiritually to grieve, year after year, for someone who held my heart (my mom) to where I become self-absorbed so much in missing her that I forget to rejoice that she is in heaven with God. To be selfish that I don’t have her to talk with or hug, instead of being thankful that God took her suffering away. And to not remember all the wonderful times we had together because of the overshadowing grief that I carried daily. By honoring her memory in a positive way (which is what she asked me to do) will nurture my spiritual connection with God and all my loved ones who have passed. Thank you for the wonderful reflection. I always look forward to your writings. God. Bless You, my friend.
